At the moment, the factories are in the maintenance period, so the production volume is reduced, there are many speculators hoarding goods to wait for the price increase again, so it becomes more difficult to buy input materials now. Although manufacturers can order goods, there are no imported vehicles.

Depending on imports, businesses cannot find an alternative source in the country, because the number of factories producing plastic raw materials in the country can only be counted in the fingers. Therefore, in the immediate future, businesses are forced to find ways to reduce costs and increase labor productivity to find a way to live with the current storm of rising raw material prices.

VPA proposed that the authorities should create opportunities and increase investment capacity in companies and projects producing raw materials for the plastic industry. Moreover, plastic enterprises should also focus on finding and developing domestic raw materials, to avoid risks affecting import and export activities.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade also stated solutions, domestic plastic enterprises need to gradually expand factories, prepare raw materials, promote products with high added value, etc. This is considered as one of the solutions that Plastic industry enterprises affirm their advantages.
Regarding the issue of plastic waste, Mr. Hoang Duc Vuong - Recyclable Plastics Association, under the Vietnam Plastics Association - said that the branch is still advocating for the Government and calling for international organizations to support. in the fight against plastic waste in the direction of joining hands with businesses to promote the collection and recycling of plastic products in the country, instead of importing plastic waste for recycling. At the same time, advocate for the development of mechanisms and policies for the construction and development of the market for recycled plastic pellets.
